New Dryer

Ok my darling husband and I went looking for a new dryer a few days ago.

We typically buy the least expensive...and they work out just fine, but my hubby new I have had my eye on a front load forever.

Hubby takes me to the store and we check out the lowest priced dryer ask a few questions, then hubby says now show me which one you really want...WHAT?   ARE you sure?  YEP he says!!!

So over to the front loads we go!!  Of course you can not get a front load dryer and expect you clothes to be dry in 18+ min if you use a regular washing machine, you must have a front load washing machine too!

This is where hubby's brows draw together a bit, but he ask a few more questions.  Then we do our typical store, after store price comparison .....and end up at Brandsmart and of course once again they had the best deal.

Soooo what did hubby purchase me....   :O)   A front load washer and dryer ... Red to BOOT!!!

I promise pictures tomorrow.      My husband is too good to me!!!

I love you hunny!!!

Yesterday was such a good day....

I knew my peaceful smooth Monday was too good!

Today I wake and notice that the dryer is running, funny I haven't used the dryer since yesterday afternoon.  I assume that Lindsey is doing laundry and go about my day.  Around 10 am I  go down to start doing laundry for the day and guess what...the dryer is still running? hmmm?

So I check with Allison and make sure she is not doing some laundry for me...that's a nope, Jack can't reach the controls, and everyone else is gone, soooo

I turn off the dryer and check the clothes....oh my....they are the same clothes I started yesterday afternoon.  I notice the dryer is not warm even though it ran for 14+ hours.  So I guess that would mean that the heating element and the timer are gone...ugh!

So tonight hubby and I will leave the kiddo's home and spend hours going from store to store to find the best price on a new dryer...what fun!!

and I forgot to mention that it is rainning again ...

Next time I have such an easy Monday ... somebody warn me!

Chef Jack

Jack and I decided to cook Lemon Bars yesterday.  My willing chef is always eager to get his apron and start cracking eggs!

Fall has come!!

We took off Sunday for a lovely car ride to John's Mountain National Forrest.  Got a few good pictures even though we were chasing sunshine.  Fall colors are everywhere and look so beautiful.  We had a quite weekend even though we had sick kiddo's.  Lindsey went back to school today and she is much improved.  Jack has still run a fever off and on, but nothing slows this kid down!!  Enjoy our fall color pictures!!

Frosty the Snow Man

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale they say
He was made of snow but the children know how he came to life one day
There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head he began to dance around
O Frosty the snowman was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh and play just the same as you and me
Thumpetty thump thumpthumpety thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpetty thump thumpthumpety thump thump
Over the hills of snow

Frosty the snowman knew the sun was hot that day
So he said"Let's run and we'll have some fun now before I melt away"
Down to the village with a broomstick in his hand
Running here and there all around the square saying
Catch me if you can
He led them down the streets of town right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when he heard him holler "Stop!"
For Frosty the snow man had to hurry on his way
But he waved goodbye saying"Don't you cry I'll be back again some day"
Thumpetty thump thumpthumpety thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpetty thump thumpthumpety thump thump
Over the hills of snow

Rainy Cold Day

It had just been a rainy cold day.

Took Jack to the doctor to confirm he has the H1N1 virus that Lindsey has. Like Lindsey he is not having breathing issues (thank God) so he does not qualify for the Tami-flu. So we are to treat him every 4 hours with Motrin then Tylenol Flu . He is running a fever of 101.8 now.

Lindsey is much improved. I am working hard at keep her separate from Jack so that she hopefully will be able to get back to school by Monday with no re-lapse.

SO for today we are staying curled up on the couch with our blankets and watching some of the 22 hours of Scooby Doo that we have on our DVR.

Homeschool This Week is ...

GREAT!!

We have had a really great week back after our fall break. I have been working really hard at sticking to a schedule. Getting up at a set time, eating at a set time, nap at a set time etc. and it is really working. I will post our schedule next week.

But this week I just wanted to post that things are going well. Jack and Allison both are working hard.
Pictures from the week.

I hope everyone is having a great week!! If we could just skip the flu I would say it was close to a perfect week!!

Halloween Costume Shopping

Allison, Jack, and I ran a few errands today. The most important thing we had planned was picking out the best pumpkins...which I will share once we have carved them later next week!!

AND

Picking out the long awaited Halloween costumes. So we headed out to the stores. Jack wanted to be a skeleton, and Allison wanted to be a witch, or a princess. Okay we get to costume world and all bets are off....after looking forever at every costume in the place I leave with a Transformer - Jack and a Vampiress - Allison. What happened???

They will both be cute if we don't all have the flu by then!!! Pictures to come on Halloween!!!

An Enjoyable Color Sorting Game

I saw this idea a long time ago at Ten Kids and a Dog. Bookmarked it and forgot about it. Please tell me I am not the only one that does this :O) But this weekend when I was planning out some more of Jack's stuff for school I ran across it again. Printed it out here. laminated it, found my clothes pins and markers....and tada a new color sorting game....Per my 3 almost 4 year old ...he loved it!! The clothes pins were new and a little tight at first, but Jack quickly got the hand of it. We pretty much have mastered colors, but this is something different to do and as long as Jack thinks it is a game he is winning we are playing :O)

**I also made the shapes wheel and matching clothes pins, but I am saving that until later in the week!!!

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY : Monday, October 5, 2009

Outside my window...Drizzly Skies...Blah weather.

I am thankful for...for another wonderful day.

From the learning rooms...this will be a busy week. This is our last week before our fall break next week, so we have to tie up all the loose ends.

From the kitchen... Maybe some of my peanut butter cookies yum!

I am wearing...jeans, my Paula Deen t-shirt, and no shoes of course!!

I am creating...hopefully some new stitchery...we will see!!

I am reading... nothing at the moment heading to the library later this week!!

I am hoping...the sunshine comes back soon, that the week is a smooth one, and that the weather stays nice and cool (I haven't needed my ac in more than a week).

I am hearing...Callious Christmas on the tv and the dishwasher.

Around the house...Laundry needs to be done, and a good quick clean.

One of my favorite things...Spending time with my family.

A few plans for the rest of the week: a trip to the library is the only thing I have planned for the week!

Here is picture thought I am sharing...I don't have any new pictures uploaded to my computer yet...but I am sure I will later this week!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
