Favorite Recipe from my Recipe Box for Oatmeal Boiled Cookies. This recipe is courtesy of my Aunt Kim & my Mawmaw. I can not remember which of them I saw make it first. I know my Aunt made them more often it seems like, but I am not sure. These are really easy to make, but make sure the weather is sunny with no chance of storms outside or they will just not turn out.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 # butter
- 2 1/2 cups quick oats
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 tsp vanilla flavoring
Bring the sugar, milk, & butter to a complete rolling boil on top of stove. Cook at a rolling boil for 1 min 30 seconds (I usually use the timer on my microwave for exact time). Remove from heat and add oats, peanut butter, & vanilla. Mix well! Spoon mixture onto wax paper to allow cookies to cook and harden!!! Enjoy!!

i love these, my grandma used to make them too, but she put in cocoa.
Yum, Yum. I may have to make me some of those cookies. I can taste them now or maybe I should stick with smelling them.
Thanks for the memories. Aunt Kim
