Summer of Concerts - Halsey 2022

This summer we have seen more concerts than I have in a long time.  I am not sure if it is because attendance has been down or if people are still overly concerned about covid, or if the possibility of recession is why tickets to concerts that we have wanted to see have been so affordable.  We always choose the lawn tickets because we enjoy the ability to spread out a bit and stand or sit and still be able to see well.

So, on June 30, 2022, the kids and I went to see Halsey in concert.  It was a great night really enjoyed the show until about 45 min into Halsey the clouds open up and the bottom falls out.  Lightning and thunder forced the show to stop.  After a while we were completely soaked and decided to go ahead and head out.  Of course, we needed to stop for some food at Waffle House before heading home.  Our concert might have gotten cut short, but we had lots of fun and laughter.

AJR Concert

For Mother’s Day this year I was gifted concert tickets from my girls.  Allison gave me tickets to AJR.  Lindsey gave me tickets to see Train.these pictures are from Gayle and AJR.  it was hot but beautiful!
We had a great time and loved the music!

Life changes 2022

Our plans change as they so often do.  We took advantage of the market and sold our home earlier this year at a large enough profit to pay off all our debt and have a sizeable down payment for our next home.  We intended to rent a home and allow the market to cool down some before purchasing again.  We however have realized we are not rental people.  Various things have happened that I will not get into here but just know we have enjoyed the home we rented but are ready to move into something that we own and control the day to day of.

That being said we went in search of our FOREVER home.  Our list of things was 2-10 acres of land, an outbuilding on the property (or space to put one), large enough for everyone, plenty of parking (since we have 5 cars and everyone drives), his and her closets, large master shower with bench, master bedroom and laundry room on same floor, and wish list item was a pool or space for one.  We looked at many houses and even made an offer on one and then changed our minds to find what we believe will be our FOREVER home.

So, we are planning Lord Willing to close on the 19th of August on a home we saw hours after it went on the market.  We were the first to see it and the first offer on the home and it has been accepted and we are packing again.  This time we are moving back to Newnan Georgia.  We have family in the area and are not too far from the rest of our family as well.  Below are pictures of our 6-bedroom 4 bath home on 5.98 acres and a pool.

Train Concert 06/28/2022

For Mothers Day this year I was blessed with concert tickets from my kiddos.  My middle daughter gifted me tickets to AJR I will post those soon.  My oldest daughter gifted me tickets to see Train, Blues Traveller, and Jewel.  We all went minus Jackson since he is a working man these days.  Of course summer in HOTLANTA you never know it will rain or not.  Of course it did but we toughed it out and got soaked through to the bones.  We had a great time and here are a few of those memories :

It was a great night and I would gladly do it again even in the rain!!

Allison’s 21st Birthday!

We all met at the house and then headed to Duluth, Georgia to have Korean BBQ.  Both the girls had asked if we could celebrate their bdays together.  So it was the 5 of us, Allison’s boyfriend, and my mom (granny Stella). Then we headed back to the house with Krispy Cream 🍩 doughnuts and played games for the rest of the evening.

I wish I had gotten some photos at the Korean bbq, but I was too amazed and shocked 😳 to think about my phone.

We did have fun and hopefully it was a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY for ALLISON!

My morning girn

A conversation overheard between my daughter and a friend. Both happen to be fairly tall as young ladies go.

Dd: It seems to me that tall boys like short girls.

Friend: It also seems that short boys like short girls.

Dd: So where does that leave us tall girls?

There was a brief pause...
And then that was followed up with...

Dd:  I guess that leaves us tall girls with cats.

And lots of giggles. I love teenagers.

Our Co-op Group

This is my co-op class.  We range in age from pre-teen to 16.  They are a wonderful group of kids that myself and another teacher share every Tuesday for a few hours.  They are learning and growing together and it is a blessing to watch.

First Day of School Photos

We started school today.  Much like every other year we began in prayer and then began by each looking over our new books and jumping right in with both feet.  It went very well for our first day and both Allison and Jackson seem excited about this year.  In addition to our normal school books, we are adding co-op which for Allison will include Personal Finance and Georgia State history.  For Jackson it will include book club and Georgia state history.  We are all excited about adding this in this year.  We also will be adding Karate for Jackson twice a week and Allison will begin Piano lessons hopefully after Christmas.  A busy year for all but we are praying for a good solid year.

Girls Day

These sweet, silly, and sassy 3 young ladies decided to take a day and enjoy a meal out and a pedi.  So we planned an afternoon and had lunch at Chili's and then headed out for Pedi's.  They all got their toes done and enjoyed a little pampering in the afternoon heat of July.  Love to watch these godly young ladies grow!

Happy Sweet 16

On January 25th we celebrated the birthday of our middle child.  Yes sweet 16 ...how did that happen?  Allison has grown into a beautiful, intelligent, and funny young lady that keeps her dad and I on our toes.
She is now looking for that first official job.  It is unreal how fast time has gone and I am looking forward to see how God uses her life.

Happy Birthday Allison!
We love you!
Mom, Dad, Jackson, and Lindsey

Ugly Sweater Teen Party

Our teen group at church had an ugly sweater party.  Above in the top picture is Allison and her friend Emily.  Allison's idea was to make her sweater look like a tree and wear an angel tree topper as the hat.  The second picture is Emily's brother Cameron.  His sweater was too cute to be ugly!  They had a great time and a lot of laughs and memories made!
