4th of July decor

A Little 4th of July decorating around my house.  As far as holidays go this is one that I do not have a lot of decor.  I have been adding to my decor closet over the years but it always seems that I forget to pull it out.  We usually celebrate the 4th by cooking out and watching fireworks, I just do so with out much decorating.  So this year I thought even though we are in the rental house I would drag out some of my stash and decorate.  We will not be celebrating this year as usual since my husband will be on his pre-op diet and my oldest is still recovering from gallbladder surgery.  This is year will be a quiet time at home.  Hopefully we still see some fireworks.

Six Flags over Georgia

For Christmas one of Jacks sisters bought him season passes to six flags.  So we made sure to get there before they took down their Christmas decor.  I am the only one in the family that will do theme parks and ride all the rides with him so we made time and spent about 4 hours at Six Flags over Georgia.  It’s as much fun to me as it is him ....guess I am a kid at heart.  We already have plans when they open in March to be back!  

Merry Christmas from the Speed Family 2018

 Merry Christmas from the Speed Family!  I have added a few pictures from around our home, a couple at Grandma Marilyns house, and a couple at my Mawmaws house.  We had such a nice holiday and enjoyed lots of family time.  We hope each of you did as well.

  I just want to share one of my favorite times with you.  On Christmas Eve night I always try to walk outside and enjoy the quiet.  Seems like that night is so calm and quiet and I just cherish those few moments.  Reminds me everytime what the holiday is for.  Yes we caught up with family, Santa came, and we ate way to much, but we try our best to keep the focus on Christ and the sacrifice in coming He made for us.

This is our first year in our new home and we are not sure we will have trick o treaters but we have the candy just in case!  So Happy Halloween!!

Fathers Day 2017

Our lovely children woke us up to a good breakfast of eggs, biscuits, gravy, bacon and sausage.  Then we played a round of our new family game "Furt".  In the evening we all enjoyed laughter and s good meal at Carabas.  We are truly blessed.

Black Thursday Shopping

This year I stayed home on Thanksgiving but my girls and a sweet friend Ashlynne went out and conquered the crowds!  Making memories and getting the deals!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!  We had plans to go camping, but a sweet lady in our church went home to be with the Lord this week and we have been busy with visitation and the funeral service.  So we decided to postpone camping for the time being.  Jackson went as a hunter!  It was a last minute idea, but works great for an 8 year old boy!

Fourth of July

 We had a wonderful holiday.  Lindsey was home with us and we relaxed around the house during the day, cooked out in the afternoon, and then finished up with fireworks at Dellinger Park.  We ran into a couple of families from church and had a good time watching the fireworks!

Merry Christmas in July

Merry Christmas in July!  I am not sure what you guys are doing this bright and sunny July day, but I am sitting and listening to Christmas music.  Jonathan and Jack are at boys camp this week so it is just me and Allison.  We went to six flags yesterday and I am sooo tired so I think a day of checking out pintrest for ideas for Christmas and listening to the music of the season will make for a perfect day.  Tonight we will be headed to church to hear a young pastor preach.  Such a blessing to hear someone on fire for the Lord!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day

My Valentine's Day started off with breakfast in bed for hubby and I. Jackson and Allison made us a lovely breakfast of toast and sliced oranges and delivered it complete with cards! A great way to start the day!

We all sent Dad off to work and then started school. Yes, my children did protest that it was a holiday. I told them if the mail runs we have school. They were not happy about that but all went smoothly!

For lunch the kids asked for pizza. So of course being that it is Valentine's Day they had to be heart shaped!
Later this afternoon we made heart shaped cookies. Used a simple sugar cookie mix. I only had a little confectioner sugar so we only put icing on the edges....but they sure were yummy!!

Christmas cookies with Firends

We were fortunate enough to get together with the Garrett family a couple days before Christmas to decorate about 5 dozen cookies.  Pictured below is Allison, James, Damon, Jackson, and Mikie.  We had so much fun laughing and decorating.  We are so thankful for the christian fellowship that we can share with this family.  We feel so blessed to be a part of their lives and have them as a part of ours!

4th of July Weekend

Whew, it has been a long weekend alright and we have accomplished some things!

We have been working on our dining room / school room. We head back to school July 25, and I wanted a new white board and a couple of new book shelves, so hubby got busy today. Bless his heart he has been sick since Thursday evening and still is not 100%, but he wanted to complete some of the things I had on his list to do. That is just one of the many reasons, I love him!!! We did get those things done, but unfortunatly we did not get to see the fireworks tonight they were rained out. Our neighborhood did a small fireworks show last night so we did not totally miss the fireworks, but it is just not the same!

I hope everyone is having a great summer and had a wonderful 4th!!!

Easter Crafting

This is my new wreath. I found the idea on another blog, but I can not locate it now. So if it is your let me know and I will gladly give you credit!! I love the way it turned out, but I learned that I do not like burlap....it is everwhere. This is an idea that I took from an idea over at Shanty 2 Chic. Ashley's idea was a Christmas theme, but I put an Easter spin on it. I pick up Allison and Jack from Mawmaw's in the morning!! I am excited with Dad out of town .... Lindsey and I just don't make enought noise :O)
