Life changes 2022

Our plans change as they so often do.  We took advantage of the market and sold our home earlier this year at a large enough profit to pay off all our debt and have a sizeable down payment for our next home.  We intended to rent a home and allow the market to cool down some before purchasing again.  We however have realized we are not rental people.  Various things have happened that I will not get into here but just know we have enjoyed the home we rented but are ready to move into something that we own and control the day to day of.

That being said we went in search of our FOREVER home.  Our list of things was 2-10 acres of land, an outbuilding on the property (or space to put one), large enough for everyone, plenty of parking (since we have 5 cars and everyone drives), his and her closets, large master shower with bench, master bedroom and laundry room on same floor, and wish list item was a pool or space for one.  We looked at many houses and even made an offer on one and then changed our minds to find what we believe will be our FOREVER home.

So, we are planning Lord Willing to close on the 19th of August on a home we saw hours after it went on the market.  We were the first to see it and the first offer on the home and it has been accepted and we are packing again.  This time we are moving back to Newnan Georgia.  We have family in the area and are not too far from the rest of our family as well.  Below are pictures of our 6-bedroom 4 bath home on 5.98 acres and a pool.

Thankful Thursday

I love the fact that my kids work well together.  No they are not perfect and often the days are very loud around here, but these two have really worked well together this year.  Allison is great to let Jack help with her experiments in Science.  Here they are working on one from Apologia's General Science.  Jack may not understand everything that she is explainning to him, but he is learning from her all the time.

I am blessed to hear their laughing, crying, arguring, and learning.  Thank You God for every moment!

Contentment

Contentment is something that I have battled against for years. I often found myself in prayer for contentment.

Slowly the Lord showed me true contentment. In myself, my husband, my children, my home, my life. Sometimes I still battle that doubt or unease about something, but I have learned through His Word to turn to Him in those times.

I have learned that my contentment pleases God as well as making my own life better.

One of my favorite Bible Verses is Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. This has always been a verse that I have repeated to myself, but when I looked at it in reference to contentment it shook me to my heart! Thank you God!

Thankful Thursday

Small scare this week! I felt like Johnny the Fireman, but I don't know if I did as well as he would!

After bringing in the groceries and the mail, I placed a box on the stove top. I had not been home and assumed that the stove was off. Guess what...My dd LU had cooked recently and instead of turning off the stove she switched it to low. We have a gas stove and with the ceiling fan on I could not even tell it was on or warm. You can guess the rest.

I placed the box on top and it slowly started to burn. I left the kitchen. I was suppose to go outside and work on a tree I was planting, but by the Grace of God I had received homeschool curriculum magazine and sat down to look at it. With in about 15 min I smell what I thought was matches. Immediately I started checking with LU & ALI to see if they lit a candle or something. I continued to look about the house, because the fan was on it was sucking any smoke up and I could not even see it in the kitchen, only in the living room. In a small panic at this point I begin shouting for children. Then I catch a glimpse of a smoke puff (literally puff from the stove top - another message from GOD), and I run in the kitchen and pick up the box - Poof FLAMES FLAMES FLAMES. I quickly grabbed the burning box and ran out of the kitchen door and threw the box off our deck. Of course grass catches on fire but I quickly put it out with the hose.

The box took a while to catch on fire because inside was a Styrofoam cube and it was melting instead of burning thank goodness!! Only by the GRACE OF GOD did I stay inside ... only by the GRACE OF GOD did I see the puff of smoke in time!! This is why I am so thankful this Thursday!! We are all safe, our home is not damaged, the grass will grow back!

Thank You God!!
