Slime gone Wild! Science

Jackson is waiting patiently to do his science.

The mixing begins.

We made slime and the kids loved it.

Then they touched it and realized it was crazy slimy.  And loved it more!!!

Then they tried to blow bubbles.

Then they got gross.

Science  was alot of fun today and we all enjoyed it.

Jackson's Science Activity #9

First we gathered our materials.
Insta Snow ~ blue scoop ~ 2 oz cup ~ Petri dish ~ Pipette

Jackson measured 2 oz of water into his cup.
Placed the Insta Snow and water in test tube.

Dumped the Insta Snow out on to the papertowel to play with!!!Jackson's Thoughts: I put Insta Snow in tube and added water then Kaboom it grew. It fells soft like snow, but it is warm.

We then added put the insta snow in the freezer on a plate. Later we got it out and played with it on the deck. After the freezer it felt like snow. Hard and crunchy

Jackson and Allison made snow balls.

Looks like a snowball fight happened here huh? Jack and Allison had a lot of fun playing in the "snow".

Garbled Marbles continued

We started out with some more garbled marbles.We put some in one of our large test tubes and Jackson filled it 3/4 way full with water then we left it overnight.

Now we have more bouncy, slimy, large garbled marbles.

Allison learned alot about surface tension. We are really enjoying this science course and looking forward to module #4.

Jackson's Science Activity # 7 Garbled Marbles

On this experiment we started out with tiny marbles. We sorted them by color and placed them in the different wells.

Jackson poured just enough water to fill each well.

Jackson then drew a picture for his science notebook. We left the marbles in the wells over night and the next day we checked them out again.

This is what they looked like the next day. We discovered they were very bouncy and slimy.

Jackson's Science Experiment #6

In activity # 5 we took super absorbent crystals and let them soak and color once they were ready we used them for this experiment.

Activity # 6 Make a Rainbow Tube

We laid out the crystals above on paper towels to dry them out.

Next we put them in test tubes ...... they looks so pretty in the window.

Jackson made a drawing for his notebook showing what we made. I for got to get an after picture, but after a couple of days the colors mixed together to make more of a rainbow. We wound up with test tubes with red, purple, blue, green, and yellow. It made a very pretty rainbow

Allison Science Experiement 3.1

Experiemnt 3.1 A Floating Egg

Allison is in module 3 of Apologia's General Science. This week she worked on experiment 3.1 the Floating Egg. I think both she and Jack were impressed by this one.

Activity #3 from Timberdoodle's Science Kit

Jackson's Narration: Changing & mixing colors using red, yellow, and blue. Now I am a color magician (mixologist).

In the end we wound up with mostly dk blue or green. Jackson got to use the color wheel to predict what colors would turn to what and he really enjoyed this one. Of course playing in color water with the pipette is the coolest part.

Jackson Science Experiment

This week we opened up Jack's science kit I ordered from Timberdoodle. Jack was really excited to get his own science experiment to do. Of course he had a trusty assistant, but he was overjoyed to get to do this and then to draw it in his science notebook!!!
